Crypto Vision: A Convenient Extension for Cryptocurrency Price Lookup
Crypto Vision is a Chrome extension developed by Gigadrill Argonaut that provides a seamless way to calculate the fiat price of cryptocurrencies. This productivity tool is perfect for those who are hunting for rare NFTs or participating in yield farming on DeFi protocols.
The extension offers two modes - Search Bar and Highlighter - and supports the top 1000 cryptocurrencies by market cap. In the Search Bar mode, users can simply type "cv" into their search bar and then enter the desired cryptocurrency value, such as "0.23 BTC", "37 ETH", or "123,APT". The USD value of the entered cryptocurrency will be displayed below, and pressing Enter will take the user to the CoinGecko page of the selected crypto.
In the Highlighter mode, users can navigate to any crypto-related page, and the extension will automatically find crypto amounts like "0.23 BTC", "37 ETH", or "123,APT" and highlight them. By hovering over the highlighted value, users can see its USD price.
It's important to note that the CoinGecko price feed may throttle users, so if the highlights are not showing up, users are advised to wait for 5-10 minutes for the prices to sync. Additionally, Crypto Vision displays best-effort prices that may be up to 5 minutes behind actual prices. In rare cases, the Highlighter mode may break the visual display of a page, but this can be easily resolved by disabling the mode while using such a page and re-enabling it afterwards.
